Camp McIntosh

French River

Camp McIntosh is the kind of remote fishing resort that most anglers dream of visiting. Located just up river from where the French River opens into Georgian Bay, Camp McIntosh gives it’s guests access to some of the most sought after fishing locations in Ontario.

While the fishing is great all year long the best fishing for Northern Pike is in the months of May, August and September, for smallmouth bass the month of August and for muskie, the best months are August, September and October.

In May post spawn walleyes and northern pike stay shallow and are easier to locate than much of the rest of the year. These fish are hungry after a long winter and spawning and will eagerly bite on a variety of presentations.

In August many anglers visit Camp McIntosh for the spectacular bass fishing. Trophy smallmouth roam the shoreline of The French River and with so much water to cover fishermen can cast all day long and never fish the same locations twice.

As the summer changes over to fall, folks looking for a challenge, hunt for giant musky along the weed lines on the French River and/or along the deep rock outcrops of Georgian Bay.  September is the best opportunity for musky anglers to land fish in the 50”+ size category, and being at the basin of the French River means there is no better place than Camp McIntosh for that to happen.

When you book your 2025 vacation with Camp McIntosh you get all of these great fishing opportunities plus you stay in cozy cabins with all of the comforts of home, all of your meals made fresh each day including bagged lunches or shore lunch kits, your boat rental including gas, ice and worms, all for a great price. For these reasons and many more a trip to Camp McIntosh is a must for anyone wanting to experience Ontario fishing at its best.

Gray Wood Outfitters

Beteau Lake

There is a very small list of places in Ontario that offer the outdoors experience that Gray Wood Outfitters gives their clients. With camps as far as 180 miles from Nakina, Ontario guests of Gray Wood Outfitters get the chance to experience truly remote fishing and hunting. These are literally some of the most remote outposts in the province.

Their 4 camps are located on the shores of Beteau, Windsor, Richter and Blackbirch Lakes. These bodies of water are full of incredible numbers of both eater and trophy sized walleye and massive trophy northern pike. This area is so remote that the fish swimming these depths have likely never seen a lure before. Guests can fill their limit of walleye without ever leaving the dock.

Catching 20-30 pike is an average day at Gray Wood Outfitters and the chances you will land a fish between 40-50” is better here than just about anywhere else. Their largest pike boated to date was 57” and 30lbs. Fish of this size are made possible by the abundance of food sources for the fish to eat, the miniscule fishing pressure due to the remote location and by the Gray Wood Outfitter policy of catch and release only for pike. Keeping the big fish in the water for future guests to catch means the giants will still be there when you arrive!

Don’t worry, you’ll have plenty of walleye to catch and cook at camp. The walleye are so plentiful at Gray Wood Outfitters that on an average day anglers can catch 20-50 walleyes, with 50-75 catch days happening often. Many guests have reported days where 100 fish have been caught! You won’t be going hungry with numbers like that!

If it’s trophy walleye you are after Gray Wood Outfitters has that too. Fish up to 5lbs are common and during a week of fishing there is an excellent chance you could land a 10lb walleye. The record walleye from the waters surrounding Gray Wood Outfitters is 32.5” and 14lbs.

With both incredible numbers and trophy fish in remote waters fishing at Gray Wood Outfitters is something you will never forget.

Book now before they fill up for the 2025 season, openings won’t last long!
