Why Fisheasy.ca?
The idea for fisheasy.ca came about through our own experiences trying to look for fishing opportunities in Ontario.
The Mission
We always knew that the type of fishing we wanted to do but finding the lakes to do it was difficult. Even more difficult was finding a place to stay on those lakes. There are countless opportunities throughout the province but the number of lodges, resorts, or campgrounds with little to no online presence means you either have to know they exist or know someone who does.
The Challenge
How can we get information about fishing opportunities and accommodations together to help others find the fishing trip of their dreams?
The Solution
We decided the best thing to do was create a space where anglers and vacationers could search for amazing getaways where they could fish to their heart's content and stay at a place that offered what they needed for a trip to remember.

Derrek Verschuren
Fishing was only a small part of my life growing up. Casting a line with a worm and bobber at Grandma's house in Muskoka in the summer was the bulk of my fishing experience as a kid. Fast forward to my early 20’s and an invite to an annual fishing trip ignited a passion for angling that had sat dormant while I pursued educational and work goals. Now fishing has become a hobby that has taken over a big part of my life. Every free moment I get is spent figuring out what, where and how to catch my next adventure. It’s a passion that I want more people to be able to enjoy with their friends and family.
My favorite fish to catch are Pike, Smallmouth Bass and Walleye and maybe Lake Trout if I can ever figure them out!

I first started fishing while spending time at my Grandmother's house during summer vacations. As I got older, school, work, and a busy social life took over my spare time and fishing dropped off. I ended up agreeing to go on a family fishing trip in an effort to find something new to do and fell in love with the sport. Instead of worms and bobbers off a small dock, I now cast jerk baits for smallmouth on submerged rock pikes and troll deep weed lines for pike.
My favorite fish to catch are pike, smallmouth, and the occasional walleye.

I got into fishing later than most. It started out as a way to spend some time outdoors while getting out of the city for the day. I experienced some small success chasing largemouth bass and panfish but I officially caught the fishing bug on a cottage trip to Eastern Ontario. The crisp summer mornings gliding across the lake as the mist cooked off the water from the slowly rising sun, to the lazy evenings on the dock casting out to see what would bite, fishing became something I really enjoyed.
Now I fish any chance I get!
My favorite fish to catch is largemouth or smallmouth bass!
